Notework AI
AI can save time when it has a clear job. It can also make software noisier, more complicated, and harder to trust.
Notework uses AI selectively: to turn conversations into organized work, help you understand information, and connect the AI tools you already use to your workspace. When AI isn't useful, it stays out of the way.
Use every AI feature. Use none of them. Notework still works the same way.
01
Do not add AI merely because a surface could have an AI button. AI should solve a recognizable task.
Instead ofWrite something with AI.
NoteworkTurn this Slack discussion into an issue and fill in the fields we've already discussed.
02
AI should assist rather than silently alter a workspace. When an AI workflow proposes creating or changing something consequential, you should understand what is happening and keep the decision.
03
You should not have to interact with AI just to use Notework. No persistent AI interface should compete with writing a Page, browsing a Project, or updating an issue.
Slack → Notework
On the Team planMention @Notework in Slack and tell it what you need. Notework uses the conversation to create a Page or Collection entry, decide where it belongs, and fill in the properties it can infer. You review the proposal before anything is created.

Example ·A Slack thread becomes a reviewed issue — filed only after you accept it.
In the thread where the decision happened, ask it to turn the discussion into an issue.
Check the title, project, status, assignee, and the conversation it came from.
The Collection entry is created, and the thread gets a link back.
Useful because: nobody has to copy the discussion, rewrite its context, create the issue, fill in its fields, and link everything together manually.
Nothing is created until you confirm.
Start freeYou get back from vacation and a project document has changed. Someone sends a long specification just before a meeting. You open a decision document from six months ago and need the important context first. Ask for a short summary when that happens. The Page stays the source of truth.

Model Context Protocol
Notework includes an MCP server that lets compatible AI assistants securely search and read the Pages and Collection entries you already have access to. Use Notework from the AI environment that fits the way you work, instead of copying documents, exporting data, or giving an assistant the same context again.
MCP is an open protocol that lets AI tools connect to external systems like Notework and work with the information available there.

Public clubs stay invite-only for guests. The directory page is the source of truth.
The MCP server is read-only. It can search and read. It does not create or change Pages or Collection entries. Creating work from Slack is a separate feature.
Useful because: your AI assistant can retrieve context you've already documented instead of making you provide it again.
Not every AI capability needs a chatbot. Notework can use meaning as well as exact keywords to help you find Pages, Collection entries, comments, and other workspace content.
Useful because: you can search for what you remember instead of remembering exactly what something was called.

The title does not contain those words. The page still comes back.
Notework is a workspace for writing, organizing, and tracking work. AI helps with some of that work. It isn't a second product your team has to learn or manage.
We don't put an AI button on every surface simply because we can.
Your content remains yours unless you intentionally ask AI to help with it.
When AI proposes consequential work, you should understand what is happening.
Notework remains fully useful if your team chooses not to use AI.
Notework stays a focused workspace for Pages, Projects, and Collections. AI is optional, and it only shows up for a specific job. Notework AI is included on the Team plan.
